New MUNA Music Video ft. PAX

They say good things come in threes. For further proof, you need look no further than indie-pop trio MUNA. Former classmates turned bandmates Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson just released their third album, self-titled MUNA, and it does not disappoint.

This project is their first full length release under their new label Saddest Factory and a testament to the band's evolution. The track list, which includes previously released singles “Anything But Me”, “Silk Chiffon” and “Kind of Girl”, is a journey through defiance, vulnerability, identity and self-love. MUNA knows who they are as musicians and individuals, and it shows. Given its already critical reception, it's safe to say that we're not the only ones who think they brought their A game on this album.

In addition to dropping another full-length album, the band also debuted the music video for their latest single “What I Want”. The track is an ode to authenticity and painting the town red while the visuals are a chaotically fun throwback to mid-2000s celebrity tabloid mania (the scene of Katie exiting the limo is sure to unlock some core cultural memories for Millennials). From start to finish, it's a great time set to a killer beat.

Eagle eyed viewers might notice that we got in on the action. That's right, PAX 3 made a quick cameo in the video (what's a night on the town without one, after all). As fans, we were stoked to have the opportunity to support such talented and unapologetically proud game changers that are MUNA.

MUNA is currently on tour in the US through October. They will embark on the UK leg of their tour in November. If you want to see them live (and you should), you can find a date near you here.
