PAX 2 takes approximately 3 hours to recharge with the USB charger, and approximately 2 hours to recharge with the AC wall adapter. PAX 3’s charge time is reduced significantly, to approximately 90 minutes.

Difference #6: Notifications

PAX 2 and PAX 3 both have a four-petal LED indicator in the shape of the PAX icon located just underneath the mouthpiece. This LED indicator signals temperature setting, battery life, heating time, and more. The colors can be customized through the app on PAX 3, while PAX 2’s LED light colors cannot be changed.

PAX 3 adds haptic feedback into the mix. This means that PAX 3 vibrates when the device is ready to use and when it enters standby mode. PAX 2 does not support vibration notifications.

Difference #7: Brushed vs. Matte Finish

PAX 2 and PAX 3 share many of the same internal parts, including a surgical-grade stainless steel vapor path, an oven that holds approximately .35 grams of material, and a strong anodized aluminum shell that evenly distributes heat and protects the internal workings.
