How to turn off your PAX 2

You may not know that PAX 2 is a portable vaporizer based on looks alone. Smooth and streamlined, PAX 2 was constructed to be discreet. When you pick up your PAX, you’ll see an anodized aluminum shell, which not only looks nice but evenly distributes oven heat, so your personal vaporizer is warm to the touch. The mouthpiece, too, has flat and raised options so you can choose which is more comfortable for you.

What you won’t see, however, is the power button. That familiar switch is nowhere to be found on the outside of the PAX 2 — in fact, there are no visible buttons whatsoever anywhere on the personal vaporizer. That’s because PAX 2’s power button is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible.

X Marks The Spot: Where is the PAX 2 off button?

PAX 2’s design tucks the button out of sight, in the least expected of places: underneath the mouthpiece. When you remove the mouthpiece for cleaning or simply to take a peek inside your PAX 2, you won’t see a raised button like you may see on a vape pen or other vaporization device. The button itself is not visible, covered by a flat piece that separates the vapor battery and circuitry from the mouthpiece area. The power button’s location is marked by an X in the shape of the PAX logo.

Turning off and turning on your PAX 2

Operating your PAX 2 is way easier than finding the power button. Activate the portable vaporizer by pressing down on the center of the mouthpiece. Depress the mouthpiece quickly and lightly; all it takes is a gentle short press to turn on and turn off your vaporizer.

While turning your PAX 2 off and on, it’s important to keep an eye on the LED indicator, located on the top-front of the portable vaporizer. When the light turns purple, it indicates that PAX 2 has started heating. Quick-press the mouthpiece again once you’re done with your session. Once the LED indicator lights turn off, this means PAX 2 has powered down.

According to the PAX 2 user manual, you can remove the mouthpiece to press the button, but it is not necessary to do so. In fact, it’s preferable to leave the mouthpiece on to further protect the components of your PAX 2.

One button, many uses: Operating your PAX 2

All of PAX 2’s functions are accessed and adjusted by pressing the same button, including cycling through the temperature settings. PAX 2 has four predetermined temperature settings: 360°F (180°C), 380°F (193°C), 400°F (204°C), and 420°F (215°C). Here’s how to use the power button to change the temperature:

  • Place PAX 2 into temperature set mode: Press and hold the power button until the LED indicator light turns yellow.
  • Cycle through temperatures: Quick-press the power button to choose the desired temperature setting. Each temperature corresponds to a lit “petal” on the LED indicator in the following order:
    • One green petal – 360°F (180°C)
    • Two yellow petals – 380°F (193°C)
    • Three orange petals – 400°F (204°C)
    • Four red petals – 420°F (215°C)
  • Exit temperature set mode: Press and hold the power button, or shake PAX 2, to exit temperature set mode. Once complete, the button returns to normal on/off operation.
